Authorities at Gulu Secondary School have confirmed the death of a bus controller following a road accident during a school trip to Jinja, while several students and staff members sustained injuries. The crash claimed the life of the bus controller on the spot. Five students were injured, most suffering minor cuts, although one female student reportedly sustained a deep cut on her leg. A photographer who was travelling with the group suffered broken legs, while a teacher sustained fractured arms in the accident. School headteacher Irene Mwaka said arrangements were being made to transfer the injured from Kiryandongo Hospital to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor for further treatment. “All 40 students on board are safe and are currently undergoing medical checkups at Kiryandongo Hospital before being transported back to Gulu,” Mwaka said. The students were reportedly travelling to Jinja for a study tour when the accident happened. Discover more from 303 News Subscribe to get the latest posts sent to your email.
