KAMPALA, Uganda — The Ministry of Health has officially confirmed two new cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) within the country. The announcement was made in a public press release issued today, May 25, 2026, signed by the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Olaro Charles. According to health authorities, the two newly confirmed patients are Ugandan health workers who were operating in a private medical facility located in the capital city, Kampala. Immediate Response and Containment Both individuals have already been admitted to a designated Ebola treatment unit, where they are currently receiving specialized medical care. In a bid to contain a potential outbreak, the Ministry’s rapid response teams have initiated contact-tracing protocols. “All contacts linked to the confirmed cases are being listed for follow up by response teams,” the official statement read. The Ministry of Health has urged citizens to remain vigilant and proactive. Members of the public are advised to immediately report anyone exhibiting symptoms consistent with Ebola to the nearest health facility.
