Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said his country, which has been serving as a mediator, had received Iran’s response but could not share any details. He did not confirm whether the proposal had already been passed on to the US.

President Donald Trump did not mention the response in a post on his Truth Social platform, where he said Iran would no longer be allowed to “play games.”

A ceasefire intended to support talks aimed at ending the war launched by the US and Israel in February has largely held, despite occasional exchanges of fire.

US news outlet Axios reported that the one-page, 14-point US memo includes provisions such as suspending Iranian nuclear enrichment, lifting sanctions, and restoring free transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

The report cited two unnamed US officials and two other sources said to be briefed on the matter. According to the sources, many of the terms in the memo would depend on a final agreement being reached.

Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency said Tehran’s response focuses on “ending the war and maritime security” in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.Iran has continued blocking the waterway, causing global oil prices to rise. Meanwhile, the US has enforced a blockade on Iranian ports to pressure Tehran into accepting its terms — a move that has angered Iran.

On Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian did not directly address the proposal but said: “We will never bow our heads before the enemy, and if talk of dialogue or negotiation arises, it does not mean surrender or retreat.” Trump has repeatedly said the war in Iran would “end quickly.” However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium must be removed before the conflict can truly be considered over.

“There are still enrichment sites that have to be dismantled,” Netanyahu said in an excerpt from an interview set to air on CBS’s 60 Minutes. On Sunday, Trump posted: “For 47 years the Iranians have been ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with roadside bombs, crushing protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protesters, while laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country. They will be laughing no longer!”
