Rolls-Royce Seized in Major Anti-Corruption Raid on Anita Among Properties

In a dramatic escalation of Uganda’s widening anti-corruption crackdown, security forces have seized a multi-billion-shilling luxury vehicle belonging to former Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among.

The operation unfolded over the weekend during coordinated, heavily armed raids on several of her high-end properties.

Joint security teams—comprising detectives from the CID, Forensics Directorate, Crime Intelligence, and the military—stormed her upscale residence on MacKinnon Road in Nakasero, sealing off the area for over 16 hours.The operation later extended to her estate in Kigo, Wakiso District, where investigators targeted a brand-new 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

The ultra-luxury SUV, valued at an estimated Shs 34 billion (about $600,000), was officially confiscated on Monday and taken into police custody.

The seized vehicle had recently attracted public and political attention. It was reportedly imported into Uganda in January 2026 under Anita Foundation Limited. Leaked documents further indicated that about Shs 1 billion was paid in cash to cover shipping and clearance costs alone.
