Kampala Metropolitan Police has arrested 38 suspects in coordinated operations carried out in Entebbe and Mukono districts as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region. According to Deputy Public Relations Officer Luke Owoyesigyire, the operations targeted known criminal hotspots linked to robbery, burglary, and drug-related activities.In Entebbe Division, police conducted a night operation on May 19 in Bendegere, Kasenyi, and Nakiwogo, leading to the arrest of 31 suspects. Police said the suspects were found with suspected narcotic substances and other exhibits recovered during the operation.The suspects are currently detained at Entebbe Police Station and will be processed for prosecution. In a separate operation on May 18, seven suspects were arrested in Jojo, Sonde, and Misindye areas in Goma Division, Mukono District. Authorities described these areas as known criminal black spots used for illegal activities. The Mukono suspects are detained at Goma Police Station under Mukono Central Police Station pending prosecution. Owoyesigyire said the operations are part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts to enhance public safety and disrupt criminal activity in the Kampala Metropolitan area. He added that police remain committed to carrying out disruptive operations to eliminate criminal elements and improve security for the public. Police did not release the identities of the suspects or specify the exact charges at the time of the operations.
