Wizkid Becomes First African Artist to Reach 11 Billion Spotify Streams

Afrobeats star Wizkid has reportedly become the first African artist to cross 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits, further cementing his status as one of the continent’s leading global music exports.

Music chart platform ChartsAfrica announced the milestone in a post shared on X, highlighting Wizkid’s continued dominance and record-breaking run on Spotify.

The achievement comes shortly after the release of “State of Mind,” Wizkid’s collaboration with DJ Tunez.

Reports indicate that the track recorded more than 685,000 global Spotify streams on its first day after its release on May 15.

Over the years, Wizkid has steadily expanded Afrobeats’ global reach through major international collaborations, strong streaming performance, and sold-out shows across multiple continents.
