Police have confirmed the arrest of Asiimwe Christian, also known as Don Chris, a former director of the now-defunct labour recruitment company Sky Pins, over allegations of obtaining money by false pretences and fraudulent labour recruitment. According to police, Asiimwe was arrested at around 2:00am on August 27, 2026, at a bar in Zana, Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District. Police allege that between 2022 and 2025, the suspect obtained money from several individuals after falsely claiming that he could secure them jobs in countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Dubai. The alleged job opportunities included positions such as waiters, cleaners and caregivers, among others. Police say investigations into the allegations are ongoing.
