The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding and an operational licence agreement with Starlink, in a ceremony witnessed by President Yoweri Museveni. The agreement marks a significant step towards the commencement of Starlink’s operations in Uganda. “I witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission and Starlink, marking an important step towards the commencement of their operations in Uganda,” President Museveni posted on X. According to the President, Uganda’s key interests in the partnership include security, revenue assurance, and accountability.
