Solomon Serwanjja Wins Bamutakudde Village Chairperson Race by One Vote

Solomon Serwanjja has been elected chairperson of Bamutakudde Village after defeating his closest rival by a single vote in one of the closest village elections in the area.

Final results announced after the vote count showed Serwanjja securing 106 votes, narrowly edging National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Lule Badru, who received 105 votes. The razor-thin margin highlighted the importance of every ballot cast, with just one vote determining the outcome of the election.

The closely contested race attracted a large turnout of residents, who participated in electing the village chairperson responsible for overseeing local governance and representing the community on matters of service delivery and development.

Voting was briefly interrupted after some residents alleged that one of the candidates had brought in relatives who are not residents of Bamutakudde to take part in the election.

The claims sparked tension at the polling station, but voting resumed and the counting process was completed without further incidents.

By the time the results were declared, electoral officials had not issued any findings regarding the allegations.

Serwanjja was subsequently declared the winner, bringing an end to a tightly contested race that reflected the deeply divided support among voters in the village.

He now assumes leadership of Bamutakudde Village, with residents looking to the new administration to address local priorities and improve service delivery.
