By sunset on Saturday, Lugogo Cricket Oval was already alive with excitement.

Groups of friends poured through the gates dressed in jerseys, caps, sneakers and oversized sunglasses, phones in hand and lyrics memorised.

Some attended for the nostalgia, others for the lyrical experience, but most came to celebrate a decade of one of Uganda’s most celebrated Luga flow artists.

The event, dubbed Hip Hop Ku Ntiko, was organised to mark ten years of Fefe Bussi’s musical journey, and by nightfall, it had grown into more than just a concert.It became a major cultural celebration.

Adding to the experience was Bond 7, whose presence blended seamlessly into the evening as fans raised glasses in honour of Fefe Bussi’s milestone. The whisky brand embraced the spirit of music, unity and celebration throughout the event.

Over the years, Fefe Bussi has carved out a distinctive place in Uganda’s music industry by combining street language, storytelling and hip-hop flair into a sound many young Ugandans proudly identify with.

Luga flow has remained deeply rooted in everyday life, from taxis and campuses to neighbourhood conversations about the best lyricists.

Saturday night brought that culture to centre stage.

Thousands of fans packed the Oval, turning the venue into a vibrant wave of anticipation as DJs entertained the audience and emcees kept the momentum alive. Conversations revolved around favourite songs, memorable lyrics and guesses about which track Fefe would perform first.

The excitement reflected the deep connection many fans have with his musical journey.

The energy reached another level during the segment organisers named Bondo O’clock.

With DJ Nimrod leading the moment, the crowd erupted as complimentary Bond 7 shots and exclusive giveaways were distributed, creating a celebratory toast to Fefe Bussi’s ten-year career.

Before the main performance, several artists helped build the atmosphere.

King Saha delivered emotional singalong moments, Spice Diana thrilled the crowd with energetic performances, while Navio, Dax Vibez and The Mith contributed to what felt like a broader celebration of Uganda’s music scene.Still, the night clearly belonged to Fefe Bussi.

The excitement exploded when Navio introduced him on stage.

Fireworks illuminated the sky as Fefe Bussi made his entrance with Yes No, one of the songs that established him firmly within Uganda’s hip-hop scene. Fans loudly sang along to every lyric, turning the performance into a powerful shared experience.

For a moment, Lugogo transformed into one massive rap session.Fefe confidently performed hit after hit, blending fan favourites, freestyles and unreleased songs.

At times he improvised lyrics, while at other moments he paused to take in the overwhelming response from the audience.

Several outfit changes kept the show visually engaging, while his spontaneous stage moments reminded fans why he remains among Uganda’s most respected rappers.

The celebration also created room for upcoming talent, with rap battles entertaining fans and offering prizes to participants. Unexpected moments throughout the night kept the audience fully engaged.

One of the biggest highlights came near the end of the concert when Ugandan hip-hop legend GNL Zamba made a surprise appearance on stage, sparking massive excitement among fans.

The moment symbolised the meeting of two generations of Luga flow.
