Ugandan content creator Tenge Tenge and his father have accused their former manager, Michael Kabonge, of taking control of all their digital platforms following a disagreement between the two parties.

According to the family, Kabonge allegedly claimed ownership of the accounts and even attempted to change the names of some channels after the fallout.

They also accused him of failing to openly account for revenue generated from Tenge Tenge’s YouTube channel.

The family claimed that despite Tenge Tenge being one of Uganda’s leading influencers, the manager would only give them small payments, sometimes below $200, which they were still expected to share with him.

Tenge Tenge and his father further revealed that the last significant payment they reportedly received was about three years ago when they decided to end their working relationship with Kabonge over alleged financial irregularities. They said they were then paid Shs27 million, which they now suspect was intended to ease tensions.

“Manager Michael Kabonge took over all the social media accounts, claiming they belong to him, and even tried to change the channel names.

Years back, he gave us about Shs27 million from the YouTube earnings after we had fired him because we had started noticing irregularities,” Tenge Tenge’s father said.
