Colombian pop star Shakira will perform the official song for the 2026 World Cup at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico. Shakira is set to perform Dai Dai, alongside , on Thursday, June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, just before Mexico face South Africa in the first of the tournament’s 104 matches. Dai Dai is an Italian phrase meaning “let’s go” or “come on.” Colombian reggaeton star and South African singer-songwriter are also expected to perform at the event in Mexico. Opening ceremonies will be held ahead of the first matches in all three host nations: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. In Canada, singer-songwriters and will headline the opening event before Bosnia and Herzegovina play on Friday, June 12 (20:00 BST). In the United States, pop star and rapper will perform before the USA face Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Friday, June 12 (Saturday, 4am). Shakira, alongside and K-pop group , will also co-headline a Super Bowl-style halftime show at the World Cup final on July 19.
