Morocco booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 after defeating the Netherlands 3-2 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw on Monday. Cody Gakpo gave the Netherlands the lead in the 72nd minute at Monterrey Stadium, but Issa Diop struck deep into stoppage time to send the match into extra time. Ismael Saibari converted the decisive penalty as Morocco won the shootout 3-2. They will now face Canada in the Round of 16 on July 4 in Houston.
