Rumours are gaining momentum that renowned media personality Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, could soon be appointed to an ambassadorial role abroad, although neither the government nor the media figure has officially confirmed the reports. The speculation intensified after veteran journalist Sudhir Byaruhanga revealed that credible sources had informed him about the possible appointment. Prime-time news anchor Canary Mugume also stated that he had received similar information from his own sources, further fueling discussion across social media platforms. Supporters quickly embraced the reports online, with some users promoting the hashtag “#KasukuForAmbassador,” while others humorously referred to him as the “Ambassador of Luseke.” Some observers have connected the speculation to Kasuku’s March meeting with President Kaguta Museveni, where creatives and content creators met the Head of State before later receiving a UGX 5 billion support pledge. The reports have also sparked debate online, with critics questioning whether Kasuku’s background in entertainment and social commentary suits diplomatic service. Others, however, argue that public influence, communication skills, and cultural visibility can equally play an important role in ambassadorial appointments. Despite the growing speculation, neither Kasuku nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has publicly commented on the reports.
