Buloba: Excitement filled St. Francis College Buloba on Sunday as the school hosted its annual Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) inter-house competition, bringing together students from Wamala, Kakungulu, Muwonge and Nkonge houses in a vibrant showcase of talent, creativity and teamwork.

The competition featured a variety of performances, including mime, solo music, hot step, freestyle and other artistic presentations. Each house displayed remarkable energy and determination as they battled for top honours before an audience of parents, alumni, students and well-wishers.

At the end of the competition, Muwonge House emerged as the overall winner and walked away with the grand prize of a cow. Nkonge House finished in second place, followed by Wamala House in third, while Kakungulu House came fourth.

The victory sparked jubilant celebrations among members of Muwonge House, marking their first MDD championship since their previous triumph in 2022.

Speaking during the event, the Director of St. Francis College Buloba, Mr. Ssuna Ronald, commended all the participants for their outstanding performances. He particularly praised Muwonge House, noting that their mime performance immediately captured his attention and set the tone for their eventual victory.

Mr. Ssuna also announced that the school plans to hold a Sports Day during the first term of next year, adding that parents will be informed of the exact dates in due course.

Patrons from the competing houses thanked the school for successfully organising the event and applauded the students for their discipline, creativity and commitment throughout the competition.

Held under the theme, “A Better World Through Education,” the event attracted a large crowd, including parents, old boys, old girls and other supporters who turned up to cheer on the students.

St. Francis College Buloba continues to build its reputation as one of Uganda’s leading schools, recognised for excellence in academics, co-curricular activities and its strong commitment to moral and religious values.
