Next Media Confirms Cyberattack on NBS, Next Radio and AfroMobile Social Media Accounts

KAMPALA, Uganda – Next Media Services has confirmed that several of its social media accounts were compromised by unauthorized individuals in what appears to be a cyberattack.

In a security notice issued on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the media company said its NBS, AfroMobile, and Next Radio social media accounts were accessed without authorization within the past 12 hours.

The company said it has successfully regained control of the AfroMobile account and removed the unauthorized posts published during the breach. However, the NBS and Next Radio social media accounts remained under the control of the attackers at the time the statement was issued.

Next Media cautioned the public that any content published on the affected accounts during the period of unauthorized access should not be regarded as official communication from the company.

The media house also urged members of the public to disregard any suspicious posts and report any requests for personal information originating from the compromised accounts.

Next Media said efforts to fully recover the affected accounts are ongoing and promised to provide further updates as the recovery process progresses.
