Google Unveils Pixel 11 Series, Pixel Tag and New AI Features at Made by Google 2026

Google has officially concluded its Made by Google 2026 event, unveiling a new generation of Pixel devices and a wide range of artificial intelligence features powered by Gemini. The event, held on Wednesday, August 12, focused heavily on AI, photography, health and connected experiences across Google’s hardware ecosystem.

Pixel 11 Series Unveiled

Google announced four new smartphones: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The phones are powered by Google’s new Tensor G6 processor, which the company says delivers up to 25% faster web browsing and 15% faster app launches compared with the Tensor G5. The new chip also powers the latest Gemini Nano model and is designed to bring more AI capabilities directly to the devices.

All Pixel 11 models start with 256GB of storage, while the Pro models can go up to 1TB. The phones also support Qi2.2 wireless charging at up to 25W.

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL feature slimmer designs and a significantly reduced camera bar. Google has also introduced several camera upgrades, including improved low-light performance, enhanced zoom and new photography tools.

New Camera and Creator Features

Google introduced Magic Capture, which combines photo and video capture, as well as Camera Looks, which allows users to customize the appearance of photos at the camera-sensor level.

The Pro models also receive up to 120x Pro Zoom, improved Night Sight and new 8K Pro Stable Video. Google is also adding Creator Suite, bringing more tools for shooting and editing content directly on the Pixel.

The Pro models additionally feature a new HiLight LED designed to provide notifications and visual feedback.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Gets a Stronger Design

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold was presented as Google’s most durable foldable yet.

It comes with an IP68 rating, a glass-fiber composite back and a redesigned gearless hinge. Google has also increased the bend radius of the hinge and added a thicker inner glass layer to help reduce the visibility of the display crease.

The foldable is powered by Tensor G6 and includes 16GB of RAM, alongside Google’s new Gemini-powered features.

Gemini Takes Centre Stage

Artificial intelligence was one of the biggest themes of the event, with Google integrating Gemini more deeply into its Pixel devices.

One of the notable accessibility updates is the expansion of Live Transcribe to American Sign Language. Through the Pixel Camera, users can have sign language interpreted and converted into text.

Google also introduced Rambler, a new voice-input feature designed to better understand the way people naturally speak rather than requiring perfectly structured commands.

Circle to Search Comes to the Camera

Google is also bringing Circle to Search directly into the Pixel Camera.

Users can point their camera at an object, search for something in the distance, translate text or ask questions about what they are seeing without leaving the camera experience.

Pixel Tag Takes on Apple’s AirTag

Google has also entered the item-tracking market with the new Pixel Tag, a small tracker designed for items such as keys, wallets and luggage.

Pixel Tag works with Google’s Find Hub network, allowing users to locate tagged items through the Find Hub app. It also supports more precise finding through Ultra Wideband and Bluetooth Channel Sounding, providing distance and directional guidance on compatible devices.

The Pixel Tag is priced at $29, with a four-pack costing $99, and is scheduled to launch on November 11, 2026.

Pixel Watch 5 Brings New Health Features

Google also unveiled the Pixel Watch 5, putting greater emphasis on AI-powered health and fitness monitoring.

The watch introduces Health Guardian, with features designed to help users better understand their health patterns. It will provide monthly summaries of blood-pressure trends and insulin-resistance trends, although Google says these are wellness indicators rather than medical diagnoses.

Another major addition is Breathing Emergency Detection, which can detect potentially dangerous drops in blood oxygen and alert emergency services. The watch also gets improved sleep tracking, smarter alarms and AI-assisted fitness features.

The Pixel Watch 5 starts at $399, with a special Steph Curry edition priced at $579 and scheduled for September 3.

More Updates Across Google’s Ecosystem

Google also announced improvements beyond the main Pixel hardware, including a tap-to-share mode for Quick Share, designed to make sharing files between compatible devices easier.

The company also showcased updates across Gemini and its connected-device ecosystem, reinforcing its push to make AI a more central part of the Android and Pixel experience.
