“Pay Me What I Earned” – Papa Cidy Publicly Demands Royalties from Chameleone

Veteran Ugandan artist Papa Cidy has publicly appealed to music star Jose Chameleone over alleged unpaid royalties and performance earnings from projects they worked on together.

In a message shared online, Papa Cidy said he had always regarded Chameleone as a good person and was reaching out respectfully to seek fairness regarding songs they recorded jointly, including Daniela and other projects uploaded on Chameleone’s platforms.

Papa Cidy claimed he invested heavily in the productions and believes he deserves compensation from the royalties generated by the songs.

“I believe I deserve a paycheck from royalties collection,” he wrote.

The singer further alleged that he was not paid for a performance they held together in London, questioning how artists are expected to survive if they continue working without receiving compensation for their efforts.

Papa Cidy urged Chameleone to address the matter while both parties are still able to resolve it amicably, stressing the importance of showing appreciation and recognition to collaborators before it is too late.

“Please let’s address this matter respectfully and find a solution,” he appealed.

As of publication, Jose Chameleone had not publicly responded to the claims. The allegations could reignite discussions within Uganda’s music industry about artist contracts, royalty sharing, and compensation for collaborations.
