Buweekula Revives Masaza Cup Hopes with Narrow Victory Over Buluuli

Buweekula Ssaza Team has revived its hopes of progressing in the Masaza Cup after securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Buluuli, taking its points tally to eight.

The win, Buweekula’s second in six matches, has strengthened the team’s chances of advancing to the next stage of the tournament.

Thousands of supporters filled the NTC Buweekula playground to rally behind their team as they secured the slim but important victory against Buluuli.

The only goal of the match was scored by striker Mark Nsubuga, a recent signing for Buweekula. Despite creating several opportunities, the home side failed to extend its lead, leaving supporters tense until the final whistle.

Speaking at half-time, Buweekula Miss Tourism 2026 Patience Nabbanja expressed confidence that her team would emerge victorious.

“I believed in this team from the beginning. I was confident Buweekula would win, and today the players have shown that they are capable of achieving great things,” Nabbanja said.

Nsubuga, who was named Man of the Match, promised to continue scoring goals for the team.

“I am honoured to be named Man of the Match. I thank my teammates and the supporters for believing in me. I promise to continue scoring goals and helping Buweekula achieve its targets,” he said.

Buweekula head coach Ibrahim Kyobe praised his players for their determination and discipline throughout the match.

“The boys followed the game plan and fought hard for this victory. We are happy with the three points, but we remain focused because we still have more work to do,” Kyobe said.

The Kabaka’s Representative for Buweekula, Andrew Mukasa Ssempijja, said the victory had restored confidence in the team’s campaign.

“This victory has brought Buweekula back into contention. We thank the players, technical team and supporters for standing together,” he said.

Team chairman Richard Kasumba said the team would stay focused on the remaining fixtures.

“The battle is now in our hands. We shall continue working hard to ensure Buweekula reaches the next stage of the competition,” Kasumba said.

Supporters expressed renewed confidence that Buweekula has the ability to challenge for the Masaza Cup title.

“This victory has given us hope again. We believe Buweekula can go all the way and win the Masaza Cup,” one supporter said.

Buweekula will next travel to face Kyaddondo on Sunday.
